Professor Dariusz Patkowski is a specialist
in pediatric surgery and urology. He has international recognition in pediatric
endoscopic surgery, especially in newborns. He is a faculty member of
endoscopic courses around the world including IRCAD in Strasbourg. His lectures
are available at WebSurg. He was invited to do a live surgery in many countries
around the world. He has one of the greatest experiences in thoracoscopic
esophageal atresia repair including cases with long-gap treated by staged
thoracoscopic repair using internal traction. He is the author of laparoscopic
inguinal hernia repair technique in children named PIRS (Percutaneous Internal
Ring Suturing) that has become a very popular technique all over the
world. He was an organizer and Chairman
of the 7th Congress of European Society of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgeons,
Wroclaw, Poland 2017. He is past president of the Polish Society of Pediatric
Surgeons. He is an honorary member of the Egyptian and Ukrainian Society of
Pediatric Surgeons. He was awarded Karl Storz Lecture at the Meeting of British
Association of Pediatric Surgeons in Birmingham 2022, titled
"Thoracoscopic approach for esophageal atresia: a real game
changer?".
