Ioana Ivan has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, at the
Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, ‘’Babeș-Bolyai’’ University,
Cluj-Napoca, and is currently enrolled in the Clinical Psychology,
Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy master’s program provided by this
university. Her research interests include designing interventions that
optimize the performance of novice psychotherapists, and is currently focused
on the effectiveness of psychedelic assisted therapy on increasing therapists’
ability to form a robust therapeutic alliance and on strengthening the skills
through which young therapists can cultivate and protect their psychosocial
well-being. Regarding the area of patient well-being and symptom reduction, she
is interested in testing techniques through which the psychedelic assisted
therapy protocol can be optimized in order to specifically target mechanisms of
change. During the bachelor's program, she delivered presentations on
psychedelic assisted psychotherapy and on harm reduction for the online
community ACT Romania and for the Psychiatry Study Circle organized by ‘’Iuliu
Hațieganu’’ University of Medicine and Pharmacy. She is a member of the
European Foundation for the Study of Psychedelics (MIND) and is currently
enrolled in the training program for integrating psychedelic experiences
offered by this foundation. Her commitment to providing the lay public with a
balanced and evidence-based perspective on psychedelic substance use is served
by writing monthly articles on this topic for the online platform Psihoteca.
She is participating in an internship program provided by the Terra-Pi Clinic,
during which she works as a co-therapist, facilitating Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy groups. She has completed online courses conducted by Steven
Hayes (ACT Immersion and ACT in Practice) and Russ Harris (Focused Acceptance
