Vasile BINȚINTAN

Dr. Vasile Bințintan is Associate Professor at the University of Medicine Cluj-Napoca, Cl. Chirurgie I and consultant in general surgery since 2012. He has a large experience in the minimally-invasive treatment of colorectal diseases and of the upper GI tract, but is also covering the hepato-bilio-pancreatic, endocrine, abdominal wall pathologies and many more. He is a promoter for the use in surgical practice of ultrasound/CT guided percutaneous drainage techniques, of open and laparoscopic intraoperative ultrasound and of transanal endoscopic surgical techniques. He has published over 52 ISI-ranked research articles and cumulates an ISI Hirsch index of 14. He is the owner of an OSIM Invention Patent associated with minimally-invasive surgery which has won multiple prizes at national and international research fairs. He is currently the Vice-president of the Romanian Society of Coloproctology and activated as Vicepresident of the Romanian Association of Endoscopic surgery between 2017-2022. He is organizing courses in laparoscopic surgery at University of Medicine Cluj-Napoca, Cl. Chirurgie I and University of Heidelberg, Germany and is collaborator at the courses in laparoscopic surgery organized by the Surgical Training Institute, Bucharest.
