Pascal R. FUCHSHUBER 

Dr. Fuchshuber obtained his MD degree from Heidelberg University in 1984 and his Ph.D. degree in Tumor Biology from Cologne University in 1986, both in Germany. He was awarded a traveling research grant from the German Research Council in 1987 to pursue 2 years of basic science research in Tumor Immunology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, USA. He continued his research activities as a project investigator in the Department of Surgery at MD Anderson, laboratory of Tumor Immunology, Dr. Eva Lotzova. 

From 1990 to 1996 he completed a General Surgery Residency at UMASS in Worcester, Massachusetts and UTHSC Houston, Texas, followed by a two year Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. Since 1998 Dr. Fuchshuber is a Clinical Surgeon in The Permanente Medical Group, Medical Center Walnut Creek, California. He served as the Chief of Surgical Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery and is Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of California, East Bay. Since January 1st 2018 Dr Fuchshuber has retired from Kaiser. He is pursuing a career in surgical education and acute care surgery. 

Dr. Fuchshuber has extensively published on tumor immunology, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, surgical outcomes and electrosurgical device education for surgeons. His main clinical focus in surgery is on Hepatopancreatobilisry and Upper GI oncology. His educational focus is in surgical safety in the operating room. Dr. Fuchshuber is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a honorary member of the Académie Nationale de Chirurgie, Paris and the Peruvian Society of General Surgeons. He is a board member of SAGES holds membership of the AACR, SSO, AHPBA, IASGO, and the German National Scholarship Foundation.
