After graduating from Medical School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Serrot received a grant as a research fellow at the University of Minnesota. He then completed his General Surgery training at the University of Arizona and Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Five years after working as an Assistant Professor at Emory University Department of Surgery he was named Medical Director of the Bariatric and Weight Loss program at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health system in Florida. He is currently the Chair of SAGES Safe Cholecystectomy Task Force where he continues to work on projects dedicated to decrease complications of cholecystectomy and encouraging surgeons around the world the embrace the principals of Safe Cholecystectomy.
