Dr. Costin Duțu is a highly skilled surgeon with over 25 years of experience in both public and private practice. He graduated from "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest in 1997 and completed his surgical residency at the Central Emergency Army Hospital. In 2004, he became an MD, and in 2009, he was promoted to Senior Surgeon. Dr. Duțu is proficient in English and has efficient communication skills, which have helped him develop good relationships with his patients.
Dr. Duțu's clinical expertise includes oncological procedures (breast, digestive, and uterine-ovarian cancer surgery), as well as both primary and post-incisional hernia surgery. His particular interest is in parietal surgery, ranging from laparoscopic or e-tep procedures to complex abdominal wall surgery. He is a member of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and the European Hernia Society. In 2022, he became a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery - Abdominal Wall Surgery after passing the exam at the Manchester EHS Congress.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Duțu enjoys writing and has published two books of essays on the importance of communication between patients and doctors: "Incision between Words" (2015) and "Suture of Thought" (2020). He is also a sports enthusiast and enjoys swimming, tennis, and chess in his free time.
