Col. Dr. Ionel Droc is a senior cardio-vascular surgeon, ancient chief of the Cardio-Vascular Surgery Department and General Manager of the Army’s Clinic Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, from Bucharest, Romania and  President of the Vascular Surgery Consulting Commission of the Romanian Ministry of Health.  President of the Romanian Society for vascular surgery 2016-2018.  He recieved his medical degree from the „Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Bucharest and completed his residency training in cardio-vascular surgery in the Army’s Clinic Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and in the Faculty of Medicine Lariboisiere-Saint-Louis, Paris X, France (Congenital and pediatric cardiology, Extracorporeal circulation). During 1992 and 1993 he was intern (FFI = faisant fonction d’interne) in the University Clinic Lariboisiere (service du Pr. Bloch) and ”attache-associeˮ in the Banque de Tissus, Saint-Louis Hospital–Paris (service du Pr. Gerota). Dr. Droc obtained his PhD in 2005 with the thesis: “Pharmacologic control of ischemia-reperfusion syndromes in cardio-vascular surgery” and the Competence in vascular ultrasonography in 2009.

His professional and scientific activity comprises: handbooks/textbooks (9) the last one published at Elsevier editions (2017); New Approaches to aortic diseases: from valve to abdominal bifurcation; ISI papers (10); CNCSIS indexed papers (5); studies published in the proceedings of international or national conferences (17); participating in different international or national research projects; member of the scientific committee of different meetings; head of the organizing committee for different international conferences; member of the International Editorial Board of some journals (2); abstracts reviewer for different journals.

Coronary arteries bypass surgery, “off-pump bypass”; heart valves surgery, congenital heart surgery. Elective or emergency surgery for aortic aneurysms (open and endovascular repair for abdominal aortic aneurysm), minimally invasive vascular therapies, bypass surgery for atherosclerosis/PAD/PVD, carotid endarterectomy, mesenteric arteries occlusive disease, surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, thoraco-abdominal-aneurysms treatment. 

Research projects:
• CEEX project - Module IV – Documenting/implementing/accreditation according to SR EN ISO/CEI 17025:2005 of the cardiovascular investigation laboratory of Angiomed. Project Director - Prof.Univ.Dr. Bradu Fotiade.
