ROXANA SILVIA BUMBĂCEA

Roxana Bumbăcea is Professor and Head of the discipline of Allergology at “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest. She was President of the Romanian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SRAIC) between 2017 and 2021. She is currently the representative of SRAIC at EAACI and WAO.

Her research has focused primarily on drug allergy, skin and respiratory allergies, as well as immunotherapy with allergenic vaccines.

Roxana Bumbăcea is a member of the Committee of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the Ministry of Health, member of the Committee of Allergology and Clinical Immunology of the Romanian College of Physicians, coordinating member of the working groups of SRAIC: Medicinal Allergy and Biological Therapies.

She is the coordinator of the residency program in the specialty of Allergology and Clinical Immunology since 2006 at the University Center of Bucharest; she is the coordinator of the Department of Allergology at the “Dr. Carol Davila” Clinical Hospital of Nephrology Bucharest. She was Editor-in-Chief of Allergologia Magazine (2017-2021); she is a peer-reviewer for Allergy, Clinical and Translational Allergy, Dermatological Therapy, Maedica, Medicine, and author of numerous articles and book chapters.

She is a graduate of “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest and has a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, Dermatology field.
