Professor Dr. Ioana Marina Grințescu leads the Anesthesia - Intensive Care Unit of the Emergency Clinical Hospital of Bucharest since 2000.
She is the President of the Romanian Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and a member of the Senate of the Romanian Society of Anaesthesia - Intensive Care. She is also a founding member of many professional societies/associations: Romanian Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition, Romanian Association of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy, Romanian Society of Trauma, Romanian Society of Hemostasis and Thrombosis, Foundation of Clinical Emergency Hospital Bucharest, Romanian Society of Sepsis, National Program for Patient Blood Management.
She is a regional/national responsible for the National Transplant Agency, an activity for which she has received numerous awards.
She was part of the team that performed the first heart transplant in Romania, receiving a diploma of excellence from the College of Physicians in Bucharest.
The medical activity is recognized nationally and internationally, during her career receiving numerous awards and distinctions from important structures and organizations, such as the Royal Family of Romania, the College of Physicians, the Academy of Scientists, the Emergency Clinical Hospital Bucharest, the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest, Romtransplant.
The scientific and research activity is shaped by numerous clinical studies, educational projects, articles and participations in scientific events related especially to the management of polymumatized patient, seriously burned patient, critical patient nutrition, loco-regional anesthesia techniques, renal replacement therapy, mechanical ventilation, echocardiography techniques, patient blood management, infection management.
