Professor at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and
Pharmacy Bucharest, ATI discipline, Ph.D. in Medicine, Head of ATI III Section and primary
physician at Fundeni Clinical Institute.
Since 2000 she has been active in the liver transplant program and is the
main coordinator of this program. It makes a substantial contribution in the
training of specialists in anesthesia and intensive care, in the problems of
ensuring anesthesia of liver transplantation and postoperative management of
the transplanted patient.
Personally, she supported the process of anesthesia and intensive care of
the first liver transplant in the Republic of Moldova, an activity awarded with
the title of Associate Professor of the “N. Testemițanu” State University of
Medicine and Pharmacy.
Member of editorial groups of national and international journals, external
expert for the development of national transplant guidelines and protocols in
the Republic of Moldova, director of numerous national and international
grants, President and founding member of the “Balkan Association for Vascular Access”, secretary of the “Liver Intensive
Care” Groupe of Europe, founding member of the Society for the Advancement in
Transplantation Anesthesia, member elected to the Senate of the Romanian
Society of Anesthesia - Intensive care, Vice-President Romtransplant.
Professor Dana Tomescu has been awarded with numerous national and
international awards: The Romanian Academy Award for Medicine in 2018, the
Order of Honor of the Republic of Moldova, the Order of Sanitary Merit in the
rank of Knight.
