CAROLYN WEINiGER

Professor Carolyn Weiniger is Director of Obstetric Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Tel Aviv, Israel. She serves as Editor of the International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia, ESAIC Chair of the Patient Forum, Scientific Committee and Member of the ESAIC Research Committee.

She has authored over 100 original research papers, reviews and chapters, mainly related to safe obstetric anesthesia practices including respiratory depression associated with opioid administration, anesthesia for external cephalic version and placenta accreta spectrum. She is an editor of the newly published first edition of Principles and Practice of Maternal Critical Care.

Professor Weiniger is President of the International Congress of the Israel Society of Anesthesiologists (ICISA 2023), to be held 7-9th November 2023 in Tel Aviv, Israel. This landmark event for the israeli and international anesthesia, intensive care and pain community will be held in the 75th year of Israel’s independence, celebrating 75 years of anesthesia in Israel.
