Adriana Florinela Catoi Galea is full Professor at the Pathophysiology Department form “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania Specialist in Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases.

She completed her education in this field within the professional exchange she benefited from in 2003-AMD/IDF Grant - Universita degli Studi di Firenze - Azienda Ospedaliera Careggi- D-H Geriatrico e Diabetologico, Florence, Italy.

She has been working in the obesity/metabolic surgery field for more than 15 years and she has obtained the title of Doctor in Medicine in 2009 with the PhD thesis entitled "The effects of surgical therapy in obesity".

She published several peer review articles as well as books/books chapters on the bariatric/metabolic surgery topic and she defended her habilitation thesis with thesis “Physiopathological implications in obesity and bariatric surgery” in 2020.
