István HARTYÁNSZKY

Elected member of the Council of Semmelweis University Budapest from 2000 to 2006. Markusovszky prize of the Hungarian Medical Journal in 2009. Member of the Advisory Board of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology 2009-2011.

Since 2005 I have been working at the Semmelweis University, as Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, performing the whole range of adult cardiac surgery (On- and Off-pump coronary surgery, valve sparing surgery, adult congenital cases, heart transplantations, mechanical circulatory support). From 2009 I am the deputy-director of the Dept. Of Cardiac Surgery, Semmelweis University. I got Ph.D. degree at Semmelweis University (Complex Investigation of Heart Failure and its Non-pharmacological Therapy), and M.Sc. diplom as Health care manager in 2013. I became Member of the Executive Board of the Hungarian Transplantation Society in 2015, and Member of the Eurotransplant Thoracic Advisory Comittee in 2016. In 2015 I became Associate Professor at Semmelweis University, and from 2017 Head of Cardiac Surgical Dept., Semmelweis University, Budapest. From 2019 I am the president of the Hungarian Transplantation Society.

From 2021 I am the president of the Hungarian Society Of Cardiac Surgery.
