Vlad Nicolescu holds a master's degree in neuroscience from the University of Bordeaux, with previous training in biochemistry and cell biology.
During his studies, he initially focused on research into neurotransmitter systems such as the dopaminergic and endocannabinoid systems, later working on a project on the metacognition of movement imagination.
His main interests are the study of consciousness, its emergence from the biological substrate, but also the limitations of this vision. He further wishes to contribute to the application of the results from the field of consciousness research in clinical and social contexts.
Currently, he works for the non-profit "MIND Foundation for Psychedelic Research" in Berlin and is a volunteer in the non-governmental organization "Mental Health for Romania".
