Philosopher, qualified professor of the "Babeș-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca, Director of the Department of Socio-Human Research, Cluj Branch of the Romanian Academy, psychoanalyst and member of the EPFCL (School of Psychoanalysis of the Lacanian Field Forums) in Paris.

Studies:

  • Bachelor in Philosophy (Mathematical Logic) from the same university (1976),
  • PhD in Philosophy (Phenomenology) at the University of Bucharest (1998),
  • Psychoanalyst, practicing analyst at EPFCL, Paris (2014).

Prof. Ciomoș was an invited professor at the University of Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne (1999), the University of Poitiers (2000-2003, 2005-2007), the University of Lyon 3, Jean Moulin (2003) and the University of Paris 12, Créteil (2010). He was and also is an Assoc. Researcher at CRHIA (Research Center on Hegel and German Idealism), the University of Poitiers, the MCHA team (Métaphysique: Concepts, Histoire, Actualité), the Catholic Institute of Toulouse, and of the Problèmes cruciaux de la psychanalyse team, EPFCL, Paris.

He also created the Francophone international joint master's degree in Philosophy (1995-2007), thus obtaining several grants from the French Ministry of Education, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Embassy of Bucharest. Finally, he was an international university expert of AUF, Paris (University Agency of La Francophonie, 2004-2008), founding president of SRF (Romanian Society of Phenomenology, 2000) and of the European College (1997).

Among his awards and distinctions: the "Ion Petrovici" Award of the Romanian Academy (1998) and "Les Palmes académiques", a title awarded by the Prime Minister of the French Government (2001)

Areas of interest: modern and contemporary philosophy, phenomenology, psychoanalysis
