Ioana Ivan has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences,”Babeș-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca, and is currently enrolled in the Clinical Psychology, Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy master’s program provided by this university.

Her research interests include designing interventions that optimize the performance of novice psychotherapists, and is currently focused on the effectiveness of psychedelic assisted therapy on increasing therapists’ ability to form a robust therapeutic alliance and on strengthening the skills through which young therapists can cultivate and protect their psychosocial well-being.

Regarding the area of patient well-being and symptom reduction, she is interested in testing techniques through which the psychedelic assisted therapy protocol can be optimized in order to specifically target mechanisms of change.

During the bachelor's program, she delivered presentations on psychedelic assisted psychotherapy and on harm reduction for the online community ACT Romania and for the Psychiatry Study Circle organized by “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

She is a member of the European Foundation for the Study of Psychedelics (MIND) and is currently enrolled in the training program for integrating psychedelic experiences offered by this foundation.

Her commitment to providing the lay public with a balanced and evidence-based perspective on psychedelic substance use is served by writing monthly articles on this topic for the online platform Psihoteca.

She is participating in an internship program provided by the Terra-Pi Clinic, during which she works as a co-therapist, facilitating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy groups.

She has completed online courses conducted by Steven Hayes (ACT Immersion and ACT in Practice) and Russ Harris (Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and basic training in Motivational Interviewing.
