Dr. Stercu George is a 31 years old “Carol Davila” Medical School graduate, psychiatry medical specialist from Bucharest, Romania and is currently working at “Prof. Dr. Alexandru Obregia” Hospital.

Starting April 2021, he is the new member of EPA (European Psychiatric Association) Committee on Education. The committee is responsible for the organization and supervision of the EPA educational activities.

From the beginning of this year, Dr. Stercu George is one of the medical coordinators of “Prof. Dr. Alexandru Obregia” Vaccination Center. The center is one of the few active since the first phase of the vaccination campaign and is responsible for the vaccination of the medical staff of numerous hospitals in Bucharest.

He is the former president of AMRPR (Romanian National Psychiatry Trainee Association) and of EFPT (European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees). Prior to his election as President, he was a member of the controlling committee in EFPT for two years. In 2018, he graduated the SNSPMPPDSB (National Public Health Management School) Hospital management program.

Dr. Stercu George was the chair of the 2017 AMRPR National Congress and of the 2020 EFPT Bucharest/Virtual Forum and he has organized various virtual Journal Clubs and workshops.

In 2019, he was part of the International Advisory Board for the WASP (World Association of Social Psychiatry), where he helped organize the Young Health Professional Track events alongside Prof. Eliot Sorel. In the same year, he was a member of the Early Career Psychiatry Committee of the WPA (World Psychiatry Association) in Lisbon, Portugal.

Between 2018-2020, he was a representative to the UEMS (Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes) - Psychiatry Section and took part in various projects regarding the future of psychiatric training in Europe, such as the Test your own training program.

He was part of the Jury for the 2020 Porto Research Award, an yearly European award that aims to encourage European psychiatric trainees to conduct research.

Beginning with 2019, Dr. Stercu George is one of the founders and Co-Chairs of CINP (International College of Neuropsychopharmacology) Young Member Engagement Task Force, a group chaired by CINP Vice-President and ECNP Past President, Prof. Joseph Zohar.

In the former year, Dr. Stercu George won the EPA (European Psychiatric Association) ECP scholarship for 2020 and he was an invited speaker in the Opening Ceremony of the EPA Forum.
