More than 25 years of experience in the epidemiology field, working as academic and as well in health administration, for the Ministry of Health.
Academic work: teaching and research in epidemiology of communicable and noncommunicable diseases. Involved in many national and international research projects. Author and co-author of several university textbooks, author/co-author of an extensive list of research papers.
Health administration work: working 4 years for the Ministry of Health (2005-2009) as director of the Institute of Public Health Timișoara. Alternate member of the management Board ECDC Stockholm-Sweden (2006-2008). President of the Management Board “Victor Babeș” Hospital of Infectious Diseases and Pneumology Timișoara (2010-2013).

Other: Past President of the Romanian Society of Epidemiology. Vice president of the Romanian Society of Epidemiology. Board member of the International Network of Epidemiology in Policy.
