Corneliu Sanda, MD
Dr. Sanda completed the Medical School at “UMF Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania in 2001.
After graduation, he was offered a post-doctoral position at Indiana University, where he worked in a cellular biology laboratory. During his 3 years there he was a prolific author and had presented at national and international conferences as well as publishing a handful of articles.
Dr. Sanda pursued his general psychiatry residency training at Harlem Hospital in NY, a community hospital affiliated with Columbia University. He later completed Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at “Mt. Sinai” Hospital in New York.
He graduated in the summer of 2012 and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor, being the Unit Chief of “Inpatient dual diagnostic unit” at “Mt. Sinai”.
In July 2013, he moved to Baltimore and joined MedStar Franklin Square as the Medical Director of the inpatient behavioural health unit. In January 1st 2015, he became Interim Chairman of Department of Psychiatry and in October 2015 he was appointed Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Director of the Behavioural Health Service Line.
Dr. Sanda is board certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry.
