He is the head of the Psychiatry Discipline within UMFST Târgu Mureș and the president of the Romanian Association for the Study of Personality. He has been and is involved for several decades in the evaluation and description of normal and pathological personality, behavioural disorders and the diversity of comorbid psychopathological conditions.
In recent years, he has also approached the spiritual and religious component of the human person on the territory between normality and abnormality, in national and international scientific events.
He is the author and co-author of over 150 specialized works published in the country and abroad and also of over 20 volumes, courses and monographs focused on personality pathology but also on emotional, depressive and anxiety disorders and those related to professional pathology.
He has organized annually since 2003 the National Symposiums of the Romanian Personality Study Association, two National Conferences and a National Congress of A.R.P.P., a European Congress of the International Personality Study Association and WPA 2015 Bucharest International Congress on Primary Mental Health.
