Dr. Ana Giurgiuca is currently working as a consultant psychiatrist in the "Prof. Dr. Al. Obregia" Clinical Hospital, also being a member of the faculty, as Lecturer of the Psychiatry Department of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania.
Dr. Giurgiuca's main areas of research are bipolar disorder and suicide.
In addition to her on-going interests in clinical, teaching and research activities, Dr. Giurgiuca contributed, since 2011, in the organizing activities of the Romanian Association of Psychiatric Trainees (AMRPR) - as President, of the European Forum of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT) - as Coordinator of the research group, of the Romanian Association of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (ARPP) - as a member of the Board of Directors, as a representative of AMRPR, and later, as Secretary General, of the World Psychiatric Association - as a member of the Education Section.
Moreover, her expertise in mental health builds on her working experience as a referent within the National Center for Mental Health, as well as that of member of the National Psychiatry Commission, both within the Romanian Ministry of Health.
