Professor at West University of Timișoara, Sociology and Psychology Faculty, Psychology Department; Prof. Alin Gavreliuc has a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Bucharest (2003), habilitation in Psychology at “Babeș-Bolyai“ University of Cluj-Napoca (2013).

Author of 7 books as single/first author, of which some are: “From interpersonal relationships to social communication. Social psychology and the progressive stages of self-articulation” (2007), “Intercultural psychology. Theoretical landmarks and Romanian diagnoses” (2011) and “Social psychology and personality dynamics. Accumulations, syntheses, perspectives” (2019), single authored and published by Polirom Publishing House.

He has also published 4 books as co-author or coordinator, as well as over 50 articles in journals and specialized volumes in the country and abroad, including studies published as a co-author in the world’s most relevant journals in the field of intercultural psychology (Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology) and social psychology (Journal of Personality and Social Psychology).

He coordinated or was part of over 20 research teams and implementated projects with national or international funding.

He is a member of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology - IACCP.

- self-construction in cross-cultural contexts
- social beliefs and cultural dimensions in different organizational environments
- the cultural basis of individual happiness
- social diagnosis at organizational or/and structural level- study of Banatian imaginary
- inter-ethnic and inter-regional imagology
- implicit norms, behavioural scenarios and social capital in contemporary Romania
