Dr. Juan M. Zaballos, M.D. Ph.D works as a Consultant Anesthesiologist since 1993. He
currently practices anaesthesia at Policlínica Guipúzcoa and Clinica Zuatzu in San
Sebastián (Spain).
Born in Madrid in 1963, he studied Medicine at the Universidad Autónoma, Madrid and
at Boston University School of Medicine, MA (USA).
He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from
the School of Medicine, Universidad Autónoma , Madrid (Spain).
He completed his
Residency in Anesthesiology at Hospital 12 de Octubre Madrid (Spain) after a period of
training in Cardiac Anesthesia and Lung and Liver Transplantation Anesthesia at
Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, MO (USA), and at the University
of Pittsburgh, PA (USA).
His research, teaching and consulting interests include: Supraglottic airway devices,
Ambulatory and Office-Based Anesthesia, Port-access Cardiac Anesthesia, and
Mechanisms and Prevention of Perioperative Hypothermia.
He has authored several
peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. He has mentored 3 thesis for anesthesia
residents.
He is member of the Spanish Society of Anesthesiology (SEDAR), The European Society
of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and the American Society of
Anesthesiologists (ASA).
