ROMANIA NEEDS INTENSIVE CARE!

We are in the first line of defense in the war against the coronavirus and we must fight with the best weapons possible!

Statistics are, however, worrying. The recent study made by S.R.A.T.I. shows that, currently, we have 3.481
functional ICU beds throughout Romania. Out of these, only 1.733 have mechanical ventilation systems, and in order to add the necessary equipment for the remaining 1.882 beds a total of 139 million euros are needed.

Therefore, it has become more than obvious that our top priority is equipping the anesthesia and intensive care units. The natural consequence was to mobilize, to identify the needs and to find solutions for them.

Thus, in March, we launched the "Romania Needs Intensive Care" campaign.

The campaign is an alarm signal and a cry for help for Romanians to take measures to strengthen the intensive care units and to encourage the medical staff from the front line against the pandemic.

Since the launch of the campaign, in an admirable gesture of solidarity, over 60 companies have made substantial donations, and thousands of Romanians have contributed either by SMS or online or by bank transfer for this initiative and, implicitly, for the protection of medical staff.

It is this spirit of involvement and unity that will give us strength in this crisis.

The first deliveries of devices and equipment purchased with part of the funds raised through the campaign have already been made, reaching the intensive care units at 12 hospitals in 8 cities: Arad, Bucharest, Constanța, Craiova, Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Oradea, Orșova , Timișoara.

In the next stage, 43 ICU wards from 43 city, municipal and county hospitals (from 30 counties) have received 4,000 protective suits, and by the end of April, 5,000 FFP2 protective masks were delivered, purchased and distributed by SRATI. The total expenses incurred by the S.R.A.T.I. already exceeds 220,000 RON.

AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO HELP IF YOU WILL CONTINUE TO HELP US!

We will return periodically with up-to-date information on the sound management of sponsorships and donations received.

A solidarity pandemic can defeat the coronavirus pandemic. This is the message that must reach every Romanian, all those who can lend a helping hand in this difficult ordeal.
