Dear friends, colleagues, partners,

Although we would all have wished to meet in Sinaia in May, together with our guests and friends from all over the world, a virtual congress remains today, in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the best way to bring our community together and give everyone the opportunity to connect, inform and develop professionally in this challenging year.

The v-SRATI 2020 scientific program, developed through a joint effort of organizers and speakers, adapted to the specific requirements of the digital environment, focuses on the latest advances and controversies in research and patient care, but also on the safety of medical practice, with personal experiences and solutions. Therefore, during the four days of the Congress, we will hear more than 124 conferences, 36 oral communications and e-Posters, 19 industry-sponsored satellite symposia, 2 workshops, sessions held by more than 130 lecturers from 17 countries and 4 continents.

The event’s online platform provides technical solutions that facilitate discussions with experts, colleagues, friends and representatives of the pharma industry, both through the Q&A and Meeting Hub sections, as well as through the live chat and live video call options within the virtual exhibition. I invite everyone to play an active role, making full use of these modern means of interaction.

I would like to thank everyone for their participation and involvement, the +1,200 colleagues who registered for the Congress, as well as the +50 companies that support our scientific event in this exclusively virtual format.

In the fight against the pandemic, together with our colleagues, the 1,000 infectious disease doctors / epidemiologists / pulmonologists, the ICU specialty contributes with the largest contingent of professionals (1,230 ICU  specialists, over 400 ICU resident doctors, 4,600 ICU nurses, 2,000 ICU orderlies) dedicated to the care of critically ill patients with COVID-19 disease or other pathologies.

With full human and collegial solidarity, with professionalism, respect and empathy, we will rise to the level of society's expectations.

We are honored to serve our country and its citizens in this unique, serious and complicated context.

And when everything will be alright again, we will know that we have done our duty.
