Dr. Menicanti is Head of the Adult Cardiac Surgery Department and holds the position of Scientific Director at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan. During his career he has personally performed over 17,000 cardiac operations. He deals with valve surgery, coronary heart disease and surgical treatment of patients with heart failure. He also optimized and introduced surgical remodeling techniques of the left ventricle in Italy. He has hold important roles in numerous scientific societies and is now President of the Cardiology Network, the largest Italian cardiovascular research network. He has over 280 publications in the most important scientific papers.
