Prof. Giuseppe Foti, MD, Associate Professor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, is an internationally renowned expert in the fields of anaesthesia, intensive care and critical care medicine, with a particular focus on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and mechanical ventilation. He obtained his medical degree and specialised in anaesthesia and intensive care at the University of Milan Bicocca, where he perfected his expertise in advanced life support techniques and the management of critically ill patients.
Throughout his career, Dr. Foti has made significant contributions to the management of critically ill patients requiring advanced respiratory support. He is recognised as an authority in the use of ECMO, a life-saving technique for patients with severe cardiac and respiratory failure, and has extensive experience in mechanical ventilation, especially in complex cases, cementing his reputation as a specialist in the management of severe pulmonary disease. In addition to his clinical experience, Prof. Foti is an active researcher, with a particular interest in optimising mechanical ventilation strategies and the application of ECMO in complex clinical scenarios, such as respiratory failure, sepsis, and post-surgical complications.
