ALAIN COMBES
Professor Alain Combes, MD, PhD is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at Sorbonne University, Paris, and head of the ICU department at La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris, France.
Main research interests:
• Care of the critically ill cardiac patient (cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, complicated heart surgery and heart transplantation)
• Mechanical circulatory assistance and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
• Rescue therapies for severe respiratory failure, including ECMO and ECCO2R
• Infections in critically patients, such as pulmonary infections in mechanically ventilated ICU patients and endocarditis
