Prof. Dr. Zsolt Molnar had been the head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, University of Szeged in Hungary, since 2009-2019. From the 1st of September 2019 he became the Medical Director of CytoSorbents Europe, Berlin, Germany and also a Professor in the Center of Translational Medicine, Medical School, University of Pécs, Pécs, Hungary and from the 1st of February 2020 he was also appointed as Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy at the Poznan University for medical Sciences, Poznan, Poland.

His main research interests are: sepsis related hemodynamic changes, fluid therapy, markers of inflammation, extracorporeal cytokine removal in hyperinflammation, oxygen debt and perioperative intensive care. He has been a regular invited speaker on large international, regional and national conferences all over Europe and overseas as well, with almost 300 invited international lectures over the last 7 years.

He is a member of the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. He is also a member of the intensive care subcommittee of the ESA.

He has been reviewing for most leading journals in intensive care medicine and anaesthesiology for several years. He is also the member of the editorial board of several international journals. He has published 164 articles, with a total impact factor of over 150, Independent citation index of 2723 and a Hirsch-index of 24 (Google Scholar 2021.01.21).One of his most important initiatives is the organization of a regular Central and Eastern European sepsis conference, called SepsEast, that is held biannually since 2012, of which he is now the Honorary President.
