SONIA VAIDA

Dr. Sonia Vaida is currently Professor of Anesthesiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vice Chair for Research and Director of Obstetrical Anesthesia at the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Vaida earned her medical degree from Victor Babes Victor Babes Medical School and completed her residency in anesthesiology at Bnai-Zion Medical Center, Haifa, Israel. Before joining the Department of Anesthesiology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center she served as an attending anesthesiologist at Bnai-Zion Medical Center, Haifa, Israel. Her academic efforts have resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications, mainly in the field of airway management and obstetrical anesthesia. Her priorities are to advance the science of anesthesiology through research by mentoring young anesthesiologists to launch successful academic careers of their own. As a continuation of her efforts at mentorship, she is currently helming the Continuing Medical Education series at Anesthesiology News.
