Erik SLOTH 

Dr. Sloth a consultant anaesthetist and professor of Point-Of-Care Ultrasound. He has authored 180 papers, mainly on hemodynamics and focused TTE and supervised two handfuls of PHD-students. Professor Sloth developed the FATE-protocol (Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echo) almost 30 years ago, recognizing him as the founder of POC cardiac-pulmonary US. He has developed a unique learning concept, based on pre-course E-learning and systematic and comprehensive hands-on training used in more than 50 different countries. His innovative ideas that “all physicians should learn ultrasound of the heart of pleura” has been the source of much debate, but is finally becoming reality. By making ultrasound an “every mans tool”, Professor Sloth, is one of the few, that has created a true paradigm shift in anaesthesia, critical- and intensive care.
