Andreas HOEFT 

Prof. Dr. Med. Andreas Hoeft (MD, PhD): After graduation from Medical School in Germany 6 years of basic research in cardiovascular physiology at the University of Göttingen. Main research areas: myocardial ischemia and metabolism, pacing, efficiency of myocardial pump work, indicator dilution methods for cardiovascular diagnostics. After six years PhD degree in Physiology (habilitation). Residency in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine in Department of Anesthesiology in Göttingen and board certification, followed by 2nd habilitation in Anesthesiology. 1991 and 1992 two years as visiting faculty at the Dept. of Anesthesiology University of Texas, Houston. Since 1995 Chairman of Dept of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the University of Bonn and since 1996 Vice Medical Director (board member) of the University Hospital of Bonn. Past member of several committees of DFG (German Research Society), Currently chairman of ESA Subcommittee General Anaesthesia, past secretary of ESA, past Chairman of ESA Research Committee.
