Dr Nicolae Crisan is Assoc. Professor of Urology at “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He works within the Cluj County Hospital and he is one of the key members of the Robotic Surgery Centre of Sfantul Constantin Hospital, Brasov. He has completed multiple training stages: in oncologic and robotic surgery, within the Milano European Oncology Institute – Prof. Dr. Ottavio de Cobelli (2008); specialization in urologic robotic surgery San Giuseppe Hospital in Milano – Prof. Dr. Deliu Victor Matei (2008); training - Da Vinci Surgical System Off-Site Training Programe for a Console Surgeon” IRCAD-EITS, Strasbourg, France. He has extensive experience in 3D laparoscopy and robotic-assisted approach for oncological urology. Current research topics concern: robotic surgery, robotic and imaging (MRI) assistance of prostate biopsy, augmented reality surgery. He has published over 50 scientific papers (26 ISI), 1 patent, he is a member of the Review Board for 3 ISI journals and he has worked in 6 research national and international projects. He published 32 book chapters. He participated as an invited speaker to more than 70 national and international medical conferences. He was member of the Organising Board for more than 14 scientific events, member of the Scientific Committee and Faculty for 6 international conferences and President of the Organising Board for 5 editions of The International Conference Progress in Uro-Oncology. Also, Dr Nicolae Crisan is a founding member of the Aging Male Romanian Medical Association, founding member of the South-East European Society of Robotic Surgery, member of the Romanian Urology Association and member of the European Urology Association.
