Associate Professor Cristian Radu Jecan is Head of the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Microsurgery at the University Emergency Hospital "Prof dr Agrippa Ionescu", in Bucharest, Romania. He is Elected President, Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons and President of the Romanian Ministry of Health Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Microsurgery Committee. After graduating from Medical school at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Iulia Hatieganu" Cluj-Napoca, Romania, he was Intern Doctor at The Children Emergency Clinical Hospital in Cluj-Napoca. He was trained in Plastic Surgery at the Plastic and Burn Surgery Emergency Hospital Bucharest. He joined an academic career at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila", at the University Emergency Hospital, Bucharest. He also started a private career as Senior Consultant at the Apolo Medical Center and is founding member of the Romanian Aesthetic Surgery Society. He completed the EBOPRAS examination in 2003 and publicly defended his Thesis in 2010, particularly focused on leg reconstruction. In 2011 Dr. Jecan became Head of the Department of Plastic Aesthetic and Reconstructive Microsurgery and Medical Director at the University Emergency Hospital "prof dr Agrippa Ionescu", Bucharest Romania.
